Introduction: A black teenager goes through an array of relatable issues while going through white suburbia Illinois and applying to Ivy league colleges. “Who knows?”, the title of the book is an example of the main character’s striking indifference to everything happening around him. As a very intelligent black middle class 18 year old you’d expect him to have very bold opinions on life. However there is a stark difference between three types of dialogue shown in the book.
1. What he says to other people
2. What he says to himself
3. What he writes in his journal
